Content Strategy Report: HealthReach Community Health Centers

In our lives, we look at websites, magazines, social media, and other forms of content without every really thinking about what came before. Most people would not understand all of the different aspects of planning and creating a fully formed piece of content and the strategy that comes with it. This is why content strategy is so important.

Content strategy is the process of creating a plan for planning, creating, publishing, and managing content for a business or organization. It ensures that when you go onto a website, you don’t have to think about everything that came before, it just makes sense.

I recently took part in creating a content strategy report for a healthcare company called HealthReach. They are a non-profit organization focused on providing high-quality, affordable, patient-centered healthcare to underserved communities in Central and Western Maine. The organization serves around 100k visits every year across their 12 locations. They’re variety of services are funded by patient fees, grants, and donations from individuals.

HealthReach put out a request for proposal (RFP) for a new website that is up to date with the visual and functional standards of the current healthcare industry. The current website is visually outdated and lacks an effective structure or functionality for patients. HealthReach needs a site that is flexible, informative, and easy to use/update. An easy-to-use back-end client is a must so that no coding or programming is needed to update the site when necessary.

Although by no means a straightforward or easy process, I created a plan that focuses on creating a better, more seamless user experience for prospective and current patients on the website.
